4. Penn State’s offense

When the defense needed a stop last Saturday, it could not muster it up. Penn State is one of the best teams at the run/pass option (RPO) and the Nittany Lions go fast. It takes a team being disciplined on every snap of every minute of the game to stop this type of offense.

If you stop Saquon Barkley then you still have to deal with both the arm and legs of Trace McSorely. The RPO puts pressure on a defense to be perfect, much like Air Force’s option. However, Penn State can pass — making it dangerous.

This team can also beat you through the air. Senior DaeSean Hamilton has five touchdowns and 494 yards receiving and is a serious deep threat. The Spartans did well against the deep ball last week however the Wildcats burned them on the dink and dunk passes.

I would not be surprised to watch Penn State do the same. It would be even more dangerous with this because Barkley comes out of the backfield. Michigan State has yet to prove this season that they can tackle in space.
