1. Spartans finish the month 3-1 with Penn State upset

I’ve been back and forth on this one, but for the sake of making a bold prediction, I’m going with Michigan State in an upset over Penn State. My non-bold self would make a prediction like 31-21 Penn State with a late Saquon Barkley touchdown sealing the deal, but since I’m feeling bold today, the Spartans are going to pull off a 28-24 upset.

Not only that, but Michigan State will win its final two games against Maryland and Rutgers to finish the season 9-3. Yes, that means the Spartans will lose to Ohio State in the process, but Mark Dantonio’s teams always play Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes tough.

Michigan State will put on a strong showing against the Buckeyes, but Ohio State just has too much depth and all the fresh weapons will give the Spartans a tough time late in the contest. Of course, anything could happen in that game, though.

Going from 3-9 in 2016 to 9-3 in 2017 might be the best turnaround in school history and worthy of earning Mark Dantonio Big Ten Coach of the Year honors. Heck, National Coach of the Year awards may not be too far off.
