4. Cody White emerges as No. 1 receiver with three 100-yard games

Michigan State has so much talent in the receiving corps that it’s almost tough to imagine an offense without 300-plus passing yards per game. However, that’s been the case through the first two-thirds of the season as the Spartans have been looking for some sort of consistency from Brian Lewerke.

After his best passing performance of his young career — which saw him break Michigan State records — Lewerke has the confidence to carry forward into his two toughest matchups of the season: Penn State and Ohio State.

Luckily, he has developed a top target in Cody White over the past couple of weeks who has 15 catches for 264 yards and two scores. That type of dominance will continue over the final month as he will have three more 100-yard receiving games and become the clear No. 1 receiver, surpassing Felton Davis III and Darrell Stewart Jr.

Both of those teams will be focused on slowing Davis III and Stewart Jr. that White will run wild and find himself open time and time again. Expect a big month from the true freshman.
