4. Cody White has another big game

After putting together the best performance of his freshman season in East Lansing last week, Cody White has earned himself a larger role in the offense. Often we see guys break out one week and then earn all the attention throughout the following week, but when the next game comes, they disappear. White has the tools to be a consistent weapon and buck that trend.

The freshman receiver from Novi, Mich., is a big, strong target whose hands are like glue. It seemed every time Brian Lewerke threw it his way against the Hoosiers, he snagged the ball with ease. That will continue against Northwestern.

The Wildcats have the 93rd-ranked passing defense, allowing nearly 250 yards per game through the air, and White will take advantage against the porous secondary. He’s quick, runs crisp routes and can stop on a dime, making it difficult for these Wildcat corners and safeties to contain.

White put up six catches for 99 yards last week, but he will eclipse 100 yards against the Wildcats and reach the end zone for the first time in his MSU career. The first of many touchdown receptions indeed.
