Michigan State football will face off against Indiana on Saturday and despite legal issues, LJ Scott will play, says Mark Dantonio.
It’s been a rough season for LJ Scott. First off, he’s been suffering fumble issues which had seemingly turned the fan base against him. Then, he struggled on the ground and didn’t break 100 yards in a single game until Week 7. Lastly, he was arrested on Wednesday for having an invalid license.

Not only was he pulled over and charged, but it was the seventh time he had suffered that same fate. It was the worst possible time for Scott to run into legal issues — not that there’s ever a good time to do so — as he had just come off his best game and had gained some confidence.
Rumors were circulating about what might happen with the star running back, but it would be completely up to head coach Mark Dantonio. On Friday afternoon, the coach released a statement, acknowledging the legal issues, claiming they’ve been resolved and stating that Scott would play Saturday against Indiana.

This is an interesting statement since there had been conflicting reports on Friday about the validity of the license that Scott had. Apparently, it is valid, but he didn’t have it on him when he was pulled over. It looks like that hasn’t affected his status with the team, just likely not starting.

If I were to guess, I’d say that Scott is going to miss the first half of the game Saturday and will see limited carries in the second half. Madre London could have a big day, and if that’s the case, Scott won’t be needed.
