Michigan State football takes on Indiana Saturday afternoon in East Lansing. It’s an opportunity for the Spartans to get some revenge from last year’s overtime loss.

Michigan State lost to Indiana last year in Bloomington and the loss was an omen of things to come for the 2016 Spartans. The Wisconsin loss early in the season foreshadowed problems, but it was the way the lethargic offense and defense executed that was troubling in the Indiana game.

Michigan State was out-hustled by the Hoosiers. Tyler O’Connor looked lost in overtime and the Spartans would go on to also lose grasp on their season.

Now the Hoosiers come to East Lansing and payback has to be on the minds of the Spartans who played in that game. Indiana took Michigan to overtime but was turned away just a week ago. The Hoosiers played Ohio State tough for three quarters as well. This Indiana team is scrappy and will not go away quietly.

Indiana is a dangerous team. If it were in the West division of the Big Ten, it might have a better record and chance to compete for titles. This is a team that Mark Dantonio has always taken seriously and if the Spartans are to get a ‘W’ Saturday, they will need some players to step up.

Here are five players who need to step up.
