1. Michigan State wins by double-digits

Michigan State is favored by one touchdown. Is that a fair betting line? Probably given the fact that the Hoosiers are coming off an overtime loss against Michigan which nearly resulted in an upset win. However, Michigan State feels like it still has something to prove, and it’s right.

Not many people are firm believers that the Spartans are threats to the Big Ten East title just yet. Michigan State is young and relatively inexperienced, but a comfortable win over Indiana would be telling of the direction of this program — at least the immediate direction.

Mark Dantonio is good at getting his guys up for games against superior foes (on paper), but Michigan State is good for a letdown against an inferior opponent here and there. Indiana presents a trap matchup, but the Spartans will be ready to shoot that upset effort down.

The game will be close in the fourth quarter, but a late touchdown pass by Brian Lewerke to Matt Sokol will extend the lead to double-digits and put the game away for good. I’d say Michigan State by two touchdowns, but I think it’ll be more like 12 points.
