2. LJ Scott is completely back after Saturday’s performance

This isn’t quite true. While LJ Scott may have turned the corner with a big showing against the Golden Gophers, saying that he’s “back” is a stretch. He has shown the ability to rise to the occasion in the second half of the past two seasons and this might be the game that sets him on the right path, but he needs a couple more of these performances.

No, he doesn’t need to go for 200 yards every single week, but breaking the 100-yard mark on a regular basis would be a good start. In the seventh game of last season, he recorded his second 100-yard game on the year and built on that, nearly reaching 1,000 on the year.

Scott is about 600 yards short of 1,000 for the year, and with six games remaining, with potentially a bowl game as well, there’s a good chance he reaches that plateau. He will need to prove he can hold onto the ball more, though, as he fumbled once again vs. Minnesota.

Michigan State also found Madre London to be effective in the backfield as he picked up 74 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. This could be a deadly one-two punch moving forward.
