Mark Dantonio reiterated again this week that he is searching for the hot hand at running back. The game at Minnesota could provide the young offensive linemen the opportunity to open the running lanes more. Then it would be a matter of which running back hits the lane better.

Scott was held out of the Michigan game as precautionary measure, however, he should be ready to go come Saturday night.

The junior is the most naturally talented of the trio of running backs. He has yet to step up this season and be the lead back, though. He has fumbled in critical moments of games as well as on the goal line. The Spartans know he is the best back, but it is a matter of him living up to potential.

Personally, I feel as if I write every week that this could be the game he breaks out. I have been writing since his freshman year. I’ve witnessed glimpses of it, but whatever steps he takes forward, he then takes two back.

It is time for Scott to start living up to the potential and the Golden Gophers matchup is an excellent opportunity. If Scott can get going, then this offense can be scary good and will be ready to face the East division elites in November.
