True freshman offensive guard Kevin Jarvis has stepped in for redshirt junior David Beedle. He has performed admirably and presents the hope for the future of the Spartan offensive line. He went up against the nation’s premier defense and held his own which is telling for the type of future he has for the green and white.

Jarvis was one of the higher ranked recruits of the 2016 class for Michigan State. He is massive at 6-foot-5 and 340 pounds, yet is quick and agile. He is only going to get better as the season goes along and it would not surprise me if he over takes Beedle as a full-time starter.

Minnesota is injury-riddled and this game provides Jarvis with an opportunity to break out. He is an athlete in an offensive lineman’s body and is the future for the Spartans. This game could be his coming out party for the freshman trench player. Will he seize the opportunity and cement his spot on the line?
