Quarterback Brian Lewerke is an established player for the Spartans. However, I put him on this list because I believe that he will put it all together in this game. He has a live arm and the speed to burn opposing defenses however in some games we have only seen his arm or his legs as the weapon.

The weather against Michigan prevented him from taking that next step, however, Minnesota presents the opportunity to put the Big Ten on alert.

Lewerke has had his growing pains this season — whether it was the turnovers or under and over throwing of receivers. This is the opportunity for him to put everything together.

The Golden Gophers are licking their wounds and this game can propel Michigan State further into the discussion of Big Ten East contenders. He has shown the last two games that he can protect the pigskin and he could take the next step Saturday in his development.
