This offense starts and ends with Brian Lewerke. He’s the team’s leading rusher as well as a great playmaker. Michigan will be coming after him and it would not surprise me if Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown has been saving some looks to throw at and confuse Lewerke.

The young quarterback understands he must have a turnover-free game for MSU to be competitive. It would not surprise me if the Spartans went no-huddle in this contest. Lewerke always appears more comfortable and he makes quick decisions versus the pro set.

Lewerke will need to step into his throws and make smart decisions with the football. His tendency earlier this year was to arm the pigskin rather than properly step into throws. It will be difficult to remember techniques wit the Michigan front-seven hunting you down.

Lewerke does not easily get rattled and will embrace the raucous environment of the Big House.
