4. John O’Korn’s mobility

John O’Korn has the keys to the Michigan offense. Wolverine fans have been frustrated over the last two years with the errant throws by Wilton Speight. O’Korn has the type of mobility that has hurt the Spartans over the years. Speight has also been known to pull the ball down and scamper for the first down, however, O’Korn is more of an athlete.

Several times, Purdue looked to have Michigan stopped on third down, but O’Korn would make a play and keep the drive alive. Eventually, those plays broke Purdue’s back.

Michigan State has been burned by running quarterbacks and O’Korn is that type of player who can make a defense break. If there was a silver lining in this unfortunate injury with Speight for the Wolverines, it’s that O’Korn was able to get reps against Purdue and then had the bye week as well.
