1. Momentum from Iowa win will lead to victory over Michigan

Michigan State racked up some much-needed momentum from the victory over Iowa and some have been clamoring about the win over the Hawkeyes leading to a triumph over Michigan.

Dantonio seems to always have his team ready for Michigan, and this year will be no different. However, do you think the team would fare any differently if it had lost to Iowa this week? Probably not. Sure, it gained some positive momentum with a nice conference-opening victory over the Hawkeyes, but not enough to be the difference vs. the Wolverines.

Michigan State is going to need more momentum, such as an early turnover by the Wolverines, in order to lead into a big road victory in Week 6. Is Michigan State capable of using this Iowa win to build into a Michigan win? Yes, but fans should just be happy the players weren’t looking ahead to the Wolverines during the Iowa game.

Michigan is going to provide the Spartans their toughest test this season, to date, and the Iowa victory was expected by the team. If MSU takes down Michigan, you can argue that momentum would carry over from that one into future games.
