2. Spartans don’t commit a turnover

Don’t laugh at this one. Hear me out. Michigan State will not commit a single turnover against Iowa on Saturday evening. That may be the boldest of all predictions seeing as the Spartans have had a huge turnover issue through their first three games, but Iowa ranks 59th in college football in turnover margin.

The Hawkeyes are dead-even with opponents this year in terms of turnovers which makes their margin 0. Michigan State hasn’t fared quite as well, but facing an opponent that doesn’t force a ton of turnovers is a breath of fresh air.

Brian Lewerke will be facing a secondary that has recorded five interceptions this season, which could hurt his confidence. He needs to avoid silly mistakes and throws into coverage. He will do just that against the Hawkeyes, giving MSU the best chance to win.

As for LJ Scott, it’s going to be up to him to make sure the run game continues to build momentum by not fumbling in crucial situations — or at all, for that matter. No fumbles, no picks and a solid all-around day for the Spartans’ turnover battle.
