According to reports from earlier in the month, Michigan State football will be getting a visit from four-star running back Harold Joiner Saturday.

Saturday is going to be huge for Michigan State football. Not only are the Spartans facing off against a tough Notre Dame squad, but they are also hosting dozens of top targets for a major recruiting weekend in East Lansing.

One of those top targets happens to be one of the top running backs in the 2018 class, Harold Joiner. The fifth-best running back in the 2018 class is one of the most impressive talents in the nation. He’s quick, can make people miss and can also run over defenders, if need be.

Standing 6-foot-3, 218 pounds, Joiner has a unique combination of size and speed and he could be a Le’Veon Bell-type runner. However, Bell was never this fast coming into his freshman year at Michigan State. A faster Bell? That’s scary.

However, Joiner has been rumored to be leaning heavily toward LSU and Clemson has been on his radar despite him not holding an offer. The Spartans made the list of Joiner’s top schools not too long ago and he planned his official for the Notre Dame game.

This is Mark Dantonio’s chance to truly win over the running back. He’s one of those talents that doesn’t come around often. If he could win the recruiting battle with LSU, Alabama, Auburn and others, it could do wonders for his recruitment of future elite backs.

Joiner is ranked the No. 70 recruit in the class and the Birmingham, Ala., native is the No. 1 recruit in his home state. Will this visit put MSU over the top?
