The Michigan State football staff took a trip down to Laredo, Texas, to visit four-star Tommy Bush.

Michigan State football still has needs to fill in its 2018 recruiting class. During the bye week, albeit an early on, Mark Dantonio vowed to hit the recruiting trail as his team would only have a few practices during the week to stay fresh.

Well, he kept his promise as his staff took a long trip down to Laredo, Texas, to check in on four-star wide receiver Tommy Bush. He’s one of the more elite players left on the board for the Spartans and they have been recruiting him for longer than anyone else.

The Spartans’ trip down to Texas was confirmed on Twitter:

Bush has plenty of options for his collegiate path. He’s one of the best receivers in all of 2018 and he holds offers from just about every Power Five program you could think of. In fact, he has 44 offers, according to 247Sports, and Michigan State was there from the beginning. He knows that.

While he hasn’t planned out all of his officials yet, a Michigan State trip could be in order, especially since he hasn’t gotten to see campus yet. This trip by the coaching staff should show Bush just how serious they are about landing him.

The four-star receiver also has Nebraska, Baylor, Texas and Florida State on his radar.

Bush is ranked the No. 177 overall recruit and the 37th-best receiver in the class by 247Sports. Imagine how much a 6-foot-5, 190-pound receiver could boost this MSU offense.
