1. Spartans get off to 4-0 start

Just how will the Spartans fare this season? It’s tough to tell at this point, but let’s stay optimistic before the toughest part of the schedule rolls around. I’ve predicted anything from 6-6 for this team to 8-4 with an upset over Penn State, but all of my predictions have this team starting 4-0.

I’m sticking to that.

Michigan State is going to open with a convincing, but not completely dominant, win over Bowling Green in East Lansing. It will then take down a tough Western Michigan team which still fields talent from the P.J. Fleck era. Despite the head coach and quarterback departing, the Broncos will be a tough matchup.

The Spartans will beat Western by 10 points in East Lansing. They will then play host to Notre Dame and that might go to overtime, but the Spartans will win yet another thriller over Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish. It’s going down to the wire, no matter what.

Lastly, the Spartans begin the Big Ten season against Iowa and the Hawkeyes might still be looking for consistent quarterback play at that point. The Spartans will take advantage of that, beating the Hawkeyes in a rematch of the 2015 Big Ten title game. A nice 4-0 start and momentum heading into October.
