Michigan State basketball star Miles Bridges has drawn comparisons to Magic Johnson based on his impact on the program, but now he has this photo.

We’ve heard the comparisons already. Fans have claimed that if Miles Bridges stayed for his sophomore season, he would be just like Magic Johnson. Why? The two have had similar impacts on the Michigan State basketball program and Bridges has a chance to match Magic’s national title.

Tom Izzo’s team is absolutely loaded this season and Bridges is the straw that stirs the Spartans’ drink. He’s going to be looked at as the team’s leader, along with senior point guard Tum Tum Nairn.

Well, the two leaders took to a different court this week and recreated something Magic did back in 1979 with Greg Kelser. They recreated an iconic photo behind Brody Hall, and it’s awesome.

In case you haven’t seen the original iconic photo, this is Greg Kelser dunking on the hoops behind Brody Hall while Magic leans up against the car.

Sure, in this case it would be Tum Tum as Magic Johnson, but the Spartans had the right idea — probably because Tum wouldn’t have been able to rise that easily at the rim.

Either way, this is an awesome recreation and both Bridges and Tum deserve some credit for putting it together. Moreover, the fact that they got an old car on the court to mimic the old photo might be the best part.

This team seems to be having fun while also working hard this offseason, so things like this can’t bother fans too much. This team has been gelling better than any in recent memory and it’s going to be fun to watch come November.
