Michigan State Football: 4-star RB Ronnie Walker sets announcement date
Michigan State football will soon learn its fate with four-star running back Ronnie Walker from Virginia.
Mark Dantonio is looking to land his first running back in Michigan State football’s 2018 class and he could wind up taking two. In fact, the Spartans missed on a running back in 2016 when Abdul Adams de-committed, so that makes this group even more important.

One of the top names on the list is four-star Ronnie Walker. The Hopewell, Va., native is zeroing in on a decision, and he even announced the date on Tuesday afternoon.
While also naming the three final schools in the running, Walker revealed that he would announce his decision on Aug. 28 at his high school.
While Michigan State has had the most success, especially recently, of the programs in his final three, he has spoken highly of the others. He had said recently that the Spartans and Indiana were his top two teams, but the late addition of Virginia makes it seem as if draw of playing locally looms large.
Anything can happen in the recruiting world, but it seems as if the Spartans trail in his recruitment — although he hasn’t shown his cards.
Although he is slight of frame, at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, Walker can tote the rock. He carried the ball 250 times for 2,011 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior, according to his HUDL. That is good for over 8.0 yards per touch. What a nice addition that would be.

Walker is ranked the No. 318 overall player in the 2018 class as well as the 13th-best running back, according to the 247Sports composite. He held over a dozen offers.
