Brents, a Louisville-native, recently trimmed his list to 10 schools after receiving 34 offers during his recruitment. He’s one of the most highly sought-after recruits in the 2018 class.
The talented cornerback released his top 10 school on Twitter Tuesday morning:
The list is loaded with perennial contenders such as Alabama, USC, Oregon, Oklahoma and Wisconsin while Purdue, Pitt, Indiana and Kentucky also made the cut with Michigan State. It’s an interesting mix of programs, but this just goes to show he could go anywhere he wants.
Brents is an incredible athlete, often showcasing his speed in the return game or even at receiver. He can stay hip-to-hip with any receiver and is an absolute ball-hawk. He’s a track star, and the speed is obvious while watching his highlights.
Mark Dantonio has been known to churn out NFL-caliber defensive backs over the years, and Brents has the talent to be the next star of the secondary. He’s an impressive athlete with a high football IQ.

Michigan State could earn one of his official visits this fall as he enters his senior year. The Spartans are in good shape with him, but need to put on the full-court press to land him over the other elite programs on his list. He’s ranked the No. 216 overall recruit and 22nd-best cornerback in the class, according to 247Sports.
