Former Michigan State basketball star Adreian Payne has signed a two-way deal with the Orlando Magic for the 2017-18 season.

It’s been a rough couple of years for former Michigan State basketball star Adreian Payne in the NBA. Now, it looks like he will be getting a shot with the Orlando Magic in 2017-18.

According to Jeremy Warnemuende of 247Sports, the Magic announced the signing on Monday, ending the silence on Payne’s end after turning down offers to play overseas.

Payne also tweeted out the good news.

Obviously Payne bet on himself by turning down an offer to play in China, but he will need to prove himself immediately. This might be his final chance to make a name for himself in the NBA, and Orlando is taking a chance on him.

In case you’re unsure, a two-way contract means that he will split time between the G-League and NBA and can spend up to 45 days with the NBA team.

Since being drafted No. 15 overall by the Hawks in the 2014 NBA Draft, Payne has bounced around from Atlanta to Minnesota and now he finds himself in Orlando. He has scored just over 400 points in his career. His best season, or half-season, came in 2014-15 after he was traded to Minnesota. He started 22 games, averaging 7.2 points and 5.4 rebounds.
