Michigan State football has a number of targets from the 2019 class in the new Rivals250 rankings, released Tuesday.
Although the 2018 class isn’t all sewn up just yet, Michigan State football coach Mark Dantonio has begun to eye the 2019 group. There are plenty of big-names still on the radar, but only one commitment thus far.

Four-star offensive tackle Spencer Brown is the lone pledge in the Spartans’ 2019 class, but it’s expected to grow soon enough.
In fact, there had been rumors of a second 2019 commitment just last week when fall camp kicked off and a handful of recruits were on campus. Who would it be, though?
While there are plenty of options in the 2019 class, Michigan State is eying a select few to start — and they aren’t exactly underrated prospects. According to the newest 2019 Rivals250, the Spartans are aiming for a handful of guys in the top-tier of the nation’s rankings.
A few names that stand out, along with their first top-250 rankings, are as follows:
- Zach Harrison, 4-star LB (No. 9)
- Devontae Dobbs, 4-star OT (No. 25)
- Logan Brown, 4-star OT (No. 28)
- David Bell, 4-star WR (No. 70)
- Julian Barnett, 4-star CB/WR (No. 73)
- Dwan Mathis, 4-star dual-threat QB (No. 82)
- Spencer Brown, 4-star OT (No. 203)
These guys are firmly planted on Michigan State’s radar for 2019, but there are more prospects in the top 250 with offers from the Spartans. However, these six are the top priorities.

Although the Spartans’ lone 2019 pledge wasn’t listed in the top 100, he is widely considered a four-star prospect and a top 250 player in the class. Michigan State could have a solid group, built around in-state guys, if all goes as planned in 2019.
