Michigan State basketball extended an offer to three-star 2018 small forward Aaron Henry from Indianapolis, Ind.

There are just a few targets remaining in Michigan State basketball’s 2018 recruiting class, but Tom Izzo’s board grew by one on Monday. The Hall of Fame head coach offered a scholarship to three-star 2018 small forward Aaron Henry.

The Indianapolis, Ind., native is just the latest to crack Izzo’s radar and this could mean that the head coach is playing the “better safe than sorry” card.

While he’s probably not an instant take, especially with guys higher on the board, he’s a talented kid who has been blowing up on the recruiting circuit lately.

In fact, he’s received offers from Butler, Xavier, UMass, Nebraska, Indiana, Connecticut, TCU, Virginia Tech and Washington State since June 30. He is a name on the rise, and might be a four-star prospect before the class is complete.

Henry, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound forward from Ben Davis, is a strong shooter and can create for himself on the offensive side of the ball. His handles aren’t completely polished, but he has the ability to put the ball on the floor and take it to the bucket.

Left open, he’s usually pretty accurate from long-range and that’s something Izzo wants to add to the 2018 class, especially with a number of bigs already committed — although Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham Jr. can shoot the three.

Henry is ranked the No. 163 overall recruit and 44th-best small forward in the class, according to 247Sports. He joins Talen Horton-Tucker, Luguentz Dort and RJ Barrett as the top remaining targets for Michigan State in 2018.
