Michigan State football begins fall camp on Monday and here are five burning questions every fan wants answered by September.

Entering 2017 fall camp, Michigan State football has plenty of questions to answer. Mark Dantonio knows that he will be swallowed up by the media more often than not this fall, and there will be a handful of questions regarding a potential turnaround from the nightmare that was 2016.

There is talent in place on the 2017 version of the Spartans, but it will take some time for the young guys to gain valuable experience.

Monday marks the first day of fall camp and even though it’s not live action, it will help the younger players grow and potentially even earn some early snaps. What else will be on the minds of fans and media members throughout the next month?

Let’s take a look at the five burning questions every Michigan State fan will want answered by the end of fall camp.

5. Can Trishton Jackson retain that “breakout” label?

Leaving the team after the 2016 season was R.J. Shelton who led the team in receiving. Donnie Corley was expected to be the team’s No. 1 receiver in 2017, but his off-field issues got him kicked from the team and now it’s up to the remaining guys in the receiving corps.

While Felton Davis III is the veteran of the group, he may not even be the top option. In fact, sophomore Trishton Jackson could be the breakout star everyone has been clamoring for. The offense needs a lethal receiver, and he could be just that. He’s quick, runs good routes and his yards after the catch are impressive.

Jackson had a quiet freshman season, but his big spring game performance put him on the map and his connection with Brian Lewerke is undeniable. Can he retain that “breakout” label by having a strong fall camp?
