3. Splash 2018 football commitment

There’s still plenty of time left to add to the 2018 football class even though it’s been filling up like crazy lately. The Spartans have 12 commitments, a majority from the state of Ohio, and there’s room for probably 10-12 more. Heck, with all the offseason attrition Mark Dantonio’s team has faced, they could afford to add at least 15 more.

However, the commitments lately have put Michigan State fans into a snooze. Sure, they aren’t the most high-profile players, but the recent string of three-star pledges have filled positions of need and they are decently-talented players. Some could be diamonds in the rough, but it’s far too early to tell.

July could yield a surprise splash commitment in the 2018 class, and I’d almost be shocked if it didn’t. I’m not necessarily talking about a bonafide four-star recruit, but even a guy in the high three-range that the staff has been making a priority.

A few guys that come to mind are Jacob Isaia, James Head, Julius Brents, Nolan Edmonds, Dallas Craddieth, Nikko Hall, Jairus Brents, Chase Kline, Tommy Bush, Christopher Oats, Harold Joiner and P.J. Mustipher. Heck, it could be someone off the radar, but it will get fans excited.
