Former Spartan Le’Veon Bell has been named the No. 9 player in the NFL by his peers, and the second-best running back.
There’s not a better former Michigan State running back in the NFL right now than Steelers’ star Le’Veon Bell. He has been one of the most consistent in all of football and his peers have recognized it.

Despite missing time due to injuries and also a multi-game suspension, Bell has been able to put up video game-like numbers over the past few years. Pittsburgh is hoping to sign him to a long-term deal as he’s one of the NFL’s best running backs.
According to the NFL Network, Bell was voted the No. 9 overall player in the league and the second-best running back by his peers — surprisingly.
Cowboys’ rookie Ezekiel Elliott was named the top running back in the league and is the second Spartan to make the NFL top 100. Kirk Cousins also made the list and it could be a matter of time before both are in the top 50.
Entering his fifth year in the NFL, Bell is coming off one of his better seasons, rushing for 1,268 yards and seven touchdowns while catching 75 passes for 616 yards and two more scores. He’s constantly near the top of the league in total yards from scrimmage.
