Michigan State football picked up a commitment from three-star 2018 defensive end Jacob Slade from Lewis Center, Ohio.

When one twin commits, the other isn’t far behind. Michigan State received its second commitment of the day on Sunday evening in the form of three-star strong-side defensive end Jacob Slade from Lewis Center, Ohio. He followed his twin brother’s (Zachary’s) footsteps, committing together.

In fact, the two took to Twitter at the exact same time to post about their pledges to the green and white. Not only is it nice to land multiple family members, but twin prospects at a position of need is ideal.

It’s wild to think that they are both three-star recruits, but it’s even crazier to gander at their rankings on 247Sports. Jacob is listed as the No. 1,674 overall recruit and Zachary is the 1,671st prospect in the class. So close, but that type of competition might fuel them to compete at the highest level in East Lansing.

Jacob received his offer from Michigan State one day before his twin brother, but the two decided to take the next step together on Sunday.

Slade is quick off the edge and doesn’t hold back when he gets to the ball-carrier. In fact, he puts the hurt on opposing quarterbacks from the blind-side. He can blow up a play before it even starts and exhibits a relentless pursuit to the ball.

As the slightly bigger brother, Jacob could be a force at defensive end in the green and white. He stands 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds. He’s also the 68th-best strong-side defensive end in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports. Sunday was a good day for the Spartans.
