Michigan State Football: Luke Campbell to be Freshman All-American?
Michigan State football could have one of the top freshman offensive linemen in the Big Ten, according to Mark Staten.
There are some major holes to fill on Michigan State’s offensive line, but one guy, in particular, might be leading the way as a captain and All-American before we know it.

Luke Campbell, a redshirt freshman, has won the right tackle job this spring and is already receiving some high praise from the coaching staff.
Michigan State offensive line coach Mark Staten spoke to MLive‘s Kyle Austin about the potential of Campbell.
"“He’s going to be a four-year starter,” Staten, the Spartans’ offensive line coach, said last week of Campbell. “Has a chance to be a freshman All-American, which we haven’t had since Brian Allen.”"
Those are strong words. Already dubbing a redshirt freshman a four-year starter and a potential Freshman All-American is some high praise. Heck, that does mean a lot coming from a guy who has coached the likes of Brian Allen, Jack Allen and Jack Conklin.
For those who don’t remember, Michigan State almost missed out on Campbell. The Lewis Center, Ohio, native was originally committed to Purdue after holding just a handful of offers. He then received an offer from MSU and the rest was history. Luckily for the green and white, that Michigan State offer changed his mind and he’s starting two years later.
