Michigan State basketball will be getting a major visit from four-star 2018 power forward Joey Hauser this weekend, according to 247Sports.

One of Michigan State’s top 2018 targets will be in town over the weekend on an unofficial visit. Tom Izzo has been courting four-star power forward Joey Hauser for months now and he seems to be nearing a decision.

According to his page on 247Sports, he has visits planned to Wisconsin today, Marquette on Friday and Michigan State Saturday. Those seem to be his top three teams at this point in the process, so it wouldn’t be much of a surprise to see him pick one of those.

The Wisconsin-based programs may lead the way, though. Hauser reigns from Stevens Point, Wisc., and grew up around both Marquette and Wisconsin, but a trip to East Lansing over the weekend could weigh heavily in his final decision.

A similar situation happened a couple of summers ago when Josh Langford took what looked to be a harmless visit to Michigan State in the middle of the summer, fell in love with the university and committed shortly thereafter.

Despite snagging a third commit in the 2018 class, Gabe Brown and Hauser play different positions so that pledge shouldn’t have an affect on him.

Hauser is ranked the No. 29 overall recruit in the 2018 class and as the top prospect from the state of Wisconsin, according to 247Sports. He holds about a dozen offers.
