2. Marcus Bingham Jr., 4-star PF, Grand Rapids (Mich.)

If Michigan State is serious about replacing the number of bigs set to leave the program following the 2017-18 season, it will need to take a serious look at four-star power forward Marcus Bingham Jr.

Sure, he’s as thin as they come for a 6-foot-10 power forward, weighing 195 pounds, but he will fill into that body, especially if he picks the Spartans. Tom Izzo and his staff have been tremendous when it comes to molding players’ bodies over the years. Whether it’s adding weight or dropping it, the training staff knows how to get the job done.

Bingham Jr. was just offered by Michigan State on May 3 and the staff still needs to get him to campus and explain how he would fit into the system.

Let’s say Jaren Jackson Jr. is a one-and-done player, which many think he is, then Bingham would be able to replace him as a shot-blocker and shooter from distance as well as in the post — with some added weight. He reminds me a little of Adreian Payne.

The four-star from Grand Rapids ranks as the No. 75 player in the class and third-best from Michigan, according to 247Sports‘ composite.
