3. Trevion Williams, 4-star PF/C, Sterling Heights (Mich.)

There are some who believe Trevion Williams might be a little “out of shape” but there are projects in every class. This kid has the potential to be a stud at the collegiate level and his game resembles that of Caleb Swanigan — I know, Spartan fans still don’t want to hear that name.

Sure, Williams is a big kid, but there’s been plenty of players to come to Michigan State out of shape and leave in the best shape of their lives. Draymond Green and Derrick Nix are good examples of that. Williams has the footwork, strength and size necessary to be a solid contributor in the post.

While he’s listed as a center, he can play more of a four position at the next level, standing just 6-foot-8 and weighing in at 250 pounds. If he were to lose 20-25 pounds, there’s a chance he could fit in at the three spot.

What makes this kid special is not his back-to-the-basket capabilities, but rather his court vision, ball handles and passing ability for a big man. He can create for himself with nifty spin moves past defenders or he can set up teammates with sharp passes around unsuspecting opponents.

Williams is ranked the No. 65 player in the 2018 class as well as the second-best in-state prospect, according to 247Sports‘ composite.
