Michigan State football is getting a major visit from three-star 2018 linebacker Kenny Bastida from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Kenny Bastida, a three-star linebacker from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is down to two schools. Michigan State and Pittsburgh are battling it out for his services, but only one can win the prize.

On Wednesday, though, Bastida took to the road, or air, making a trip to East Lansing for an unofficial visit. Michigan State is hosting a 7-on-7 camp Wednesday and it makes sense that he will be on campus to pick the brains of the coaching staff during the busy day.

While he already has an offer and doesn’t need to compete, he does need to see what campus has to offer. He’s named the Spartans in his top two already, along with Pat Narduzzi’s program, and he likes the way Michigan State plays defense.

The Spartans already have commitments from three-stars Jeslord Boateng (OLB) and Ed Warinner (ILB) while the staff is likely to take four linebackers in this class. Why not take two inside linebackers and two on the outside? Bastida fits the former description.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker from Florida is still making his way up recruiting rankings, but is listed as the No. 498 overall recruit and 36th-best outside linebacker, according to the 247Sports‘ composite.

Despite holding offers from the likes of LSU, North Carolina and Wisconsin, he has narrowed things down and a visit to East Lansing could make the Spartans favorites to land him.
