Michigan State Recruiting: Spartans offer 4-star 2019 OT Michael Tarquin
Michigan State recruiting has extended an offer to four-star 2019 offensive tackle Michael Tarquin from Belleview, Fla.
Putting the recruiting catfish behind us, Michigan State is seriously taking a look at four-star 2019 offensive tackle Michael Tarquin. The Belleview, Fla., native was offered by the Spartans on Sunday and it might be a bigger deal than outsiders may think.

Tarquin’s father attended Michigan State as a student back in his college days, meaning that the four-star tackle may have grown up a Spartan fan.
Nothing in recruiting is a given these days, so just because Tarquin’s father was a Spartan doesn’t mean that his son will follow suit. He’s an elite offensive line target and he’s being recruited by most major colleges.
Three days before his offer from the Spartans, Tarquin also received an offer from rival Michigan. Mark Dantonio wasn’t ready to let Jim Harbaugh reel in a recruit of Tarquin’s caliber with family connections at Michigan State.
Tarquin stands 6-foot-5, weighing in at 290 pounds. He is ranked the No. 104 overall recruit and 13th-best offensive tackle in the 2019 class, according to 247Sports. The four-star would be a nice addition to a line which will be looking for a new crop of starters by the time he gets to campus.

Michigan State may have inserted itself as a favorite for Tarquin as he also visited back in February. Schools like Clemson, Auburn, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas A&M have also offered.
