Michigan State football has offered a scholarship to four-star 2018 offensive tackle Richard Gouraige from Tampa, Fla.

Mark Dantonio takes the offensive line serious. In fact, the head coach has been extending a plethora of offers to offensive linemen for the past week, including four-star 2018 tackle Richard Gouraige from Tampa, Fla., on Sunday.

The offensive tackle from Tampa happens to be one of the best at the position in the country and he’s just the latest from the state of Florida to receive an offer.

If the Spartans want to land a kid like Gouraige, they’ll have to hope to make an impression early on and get him on campus soon. He currently holds over 35 offers, including schools like Alabama, Florida, Clemson, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, USC and Virginia Tech.

Michigan State has gotten into the running a little late, but with the success the coaching staff has had with offensive linemen in the NFL (Jack Conklin and Donavon Clark), the Spartans could have a shot. It will be a long, uphill battle, though.

Gouraige is ranked the No. 88 overall player and 10th-best tackle in the country, according to the 247Sports composite. Florida and Clemson might be the favorites to land the elite tackle right now.

The 2018 needs to start focusing on the offensive line. Gouraige stands 6-foot-5 and 271 pounds and could be attracted by the fact the Spartans have no linemen committed. Although he will play right away no matter where he chooses.
