Michigan State recruiting has extended an offer to three-star cornerback, and also four-star shooting guard, Davion Williams.

You would think that Tom Izzo would have offered a four-star in-state shooting guard like Davion Williams already, but Mark Dantonio beat him to the punch. Michigan State joined the list of potential suitors for the two-sport star from Belleville, Mich., on Thursday.

Williams took to Twitter to reveal the good news and other top Spartan targets and commits were ecstatic. Even 2018 basketball pledge Foster Loyer was excited about the potential of Williams in a Michigan State basketball and/or football uniform.

Michigan State has become the second program in the month of May to offer Williams, joining Temple who extended a scholarship last week. Moreover, he has been blowing up since the beginning of April, approaching double-digit offers since last month. Overall, he has been offered by 15 programs.

The Spartans are trying to keep this top-tier in-state talent close to home while other Big Ten programs have been trying to court him. His size is what makes him a major target while the athleticism is hard to overlook.

The three-star cornerback from Belleville has good reads on the ball and seems to be one step ahead of his receiver at all times. That’s the kind of sticky quality that has drawn the Spartan coaching staff to offer him. He’s 6-foot-2 and has quick feet, making him a nightmare for quarterbacks and receivers.
