According to his Twitter, he’s down to 10 schools and Michigan State is the only in-state program to make the cut. Here’s the full list:

As you can see, Kentucky, Iowa State, Indiana, Wisconsin, LSU, Arizona, Syracuse, Pitt and Iowa all made the list as well. The Spartans’ main competition for the in-state star seems to be Wisconsin or Kentucky, but Michigan State is in a good spot.
Square is considered by some to translate more into a safety at the collegiate level with his 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame, but he’s more of a linebacker.
Michigan State would love to have a kid like this because he’s not afraid of contact and he’s quick to come up and lay the lumber on ballcarriers. If he picks the Spartans, that would give Michigan State yet another athletic linebacker to bolster the team’s depth.
In fact, the Spartans currently have guys like Brandon Randle, Andrew Dowell and soon-to-be Antjuan Simmons coming in to play a physical, athletic style of outside linebacker. Square could be next.
