Michigan State recruiting’s top remaining 2017 target Brian Bowen says that he has no timetable for a decision.

If you’ve been holding your breath on a Brian Bowen decision, you’ve most likely passed out by now. Michigan State was hoping for good news from the five-star small forward from Saginaw, Mich., by the end of April, but here we are in May and he’s still undecided.

At this point, you can bet Tom Izzo is just hoping for any type of news on Bowen, not necessarily good, so he can move forward and start thinking about his 2017-18 roster. In fact, the Spartans are bringing back Miles Bridges and Ben Carter could get a sixth year.

There are two open spots left and Carter could take one while the other might remain vacant if Bowen decides to go elsewhere.

In a recent interview with Rivals’ Krysten Peek, he said that he has no timetable for a decision and he’s weighing all his options still. He also admitted that there are some new programs showing interest such as Oregon and Florida State.

Bowen went on to say that the decision by Bridges to return to Michigan State for his sophomore season “caught me off guard” a little bit. Whether that’s a good thing or not remains to be seen, but the word on the street is that he wants to be “the guy” and Bridges would prevent that from happening.
