Michigan State Recruiting: 4-star ATH L’Christian Smith releases top 10
Michigan State recruiting received some good news as four-star athlete L’Christian Smith reveled his top 10 schools.
The 2018 Michigan State recruiting class got off to a heck of a start with commitments from Xavier Henderson, Theo Day and Trenton Gillison, but has since slowed down considerably. However, it received good news on the L’Christian Smith trail.

Smith, a four-star athlete, is considered one of the top targets in the 2018 class and a must-have talent. The Spartans have him extremely high on their board and there’s a reason for that — he’s an instant impact candidate.
Last week, he announced his top 10 schools.
Michigan State appears in his top 10 along with Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Kentucky and Cincinnati. That would be quite the victory if the Spartans could beat out those nine programs for his services.
The four-star athlete from Dayton, Ohio, was high school teammates with redshirt freshman quarterback Messiah deWeaver. However, he’s considered a slight lean to Kentucky and Ohio State. The Wildcats have been making a push lately, but everyone assumed from the beginning that the hometown Buckeyes would be the program to beat.
deWeaver will likely be in his ear throughout the process and that will give the Spartans a fighter’s chance.

Smith is listed as the No. 119 overall recruit in the 2018 class as well as the fourth-best athlete and third-best Ohio prospect, according to the 247Sports‘ composite. Who wouldn’t want a 6-foot-6, 205-pound receiver target on the roster?
