Michigan State Football: Brandon Clemons signs with Arizona Cardinals
Former Michigan State football lineman Brandon Clemons has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals.
One of the most overlooked players on the Michigan State football roster in 2016 was lineman Brandon Clemons. Not only did he perform well in his six starts at right guard, but he also showed versatility to start five games at defensive tackle.

Not many players in this year’s draft in the trenches could play both sides of the ball, but Clemons did just that and it’s what attracted the Arizona Cardinals. Shortly after the 2017 NFL Draft, he signed a deal with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent.
Although he’s getting a shot in the NFL, Clemons would be the first to tell you that his career at Michigan State didn’t go nearly as planned. He redshirted in 2011 and missed the 2012 with a foot injury. He was granted a sixth year by the NCAA in 2016 where he started 11 games on offense and defense combined.
Clemons will join fellow lineman Kodi Kieler in Arizona as he, too, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cardinals last week. Drew Stanton, a former MSU quarterback, is the other Spartan currently on the Cardinals’ roster.

NFL teams look for versatile players and those are the guys who get valued higher. Keeping that in mind, Clemons has a shot to prove himself on both sides of the ball and make a name for himself.
