Michigan State Football: Josiah Price signs with Minnesota Vikings
Former Michigan State football star Josiah Price has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings.
Former Michigan State football players are being signed left and right following the 2017 NFL Draft. No, Josiah Price wasn’t selected in the seven-round draft, surprisingly, but the former Spartan tight end was signed shortly after by the Vikings.

Minnesota got itself a nice four-year starter in Price who came in as a freshman and starred right away at the tight end position. He finished his senior season with career-highs in catches, yards and one short in touchdowns. He had 38 receptions for 387 yards and five scores.
It’s not that surprising that a team scooped him up shortly after the draft as he was a highly-regarded tight end prospect. There were many squads looking to add some athletes at the position such as O.J. Howard, David Njoku, Evan Engram and Bucky Hodges, but Price is more of a traditional tight end.
Price’s 6-foot-4, 248-pound frame is ideal for the position, but he does need to work on his blocking, which may have caused his drop to undrafted status. If he were a better blocker, he may have gone in the 5-6 round range.
The Spartans will miss him, however, as he was a reliable target for four years and his leadership was also a plus.

The Vikings may have a dilemma on their hands after preseason ball regarding whether or not to sign Price to the 53-man roster. You can bet he will give the other tight ends on the roster a run for their money.
