Michigan State recruiting extended an offer to four-star 2019 wide receiver Jameson Williams from Saint Louis, Mo.

Michigan State is already looking ahead to 2019, offering four-star Saint Louis, Mo., wide out Jameson Williams on Wednesday.

Surprisingly, now is as good a time as ever to start looking at the 2019 recruiting class extensively. Mark Dantonio and the staff are doing just that, despite the 2018 class needing some work.

The Spartans are hoping to bolster the receiving corps for years to come, but they seem to be set for the time being. However, when there’s a guy like Williams out there without many offers early on in his recruitment, you have to pounce.

Williams’ 6-foot-2 frame could use a little more meat, but he still has two years of high school ball left to grow into his body. Once he adds a little muscle, he will be a hard receiver to stop.

While he’s not the most explosive down-field receiver, he can take a screen pass that looks to be blown up and turn it into a 15-yard gain. He’s creative with the ball in his hands and has excellent field vision. He can speed past opposing defenders, especially in press coverage, to haul in a 20-25 yard pass, on occasion.

Williams is ranked the No. 245 prospect in the 2019 class as well as the 38th-best wide receiver, according to 247Sports. His only other offers are Central Michigan, Kentucky, Illinois and Syracuse.
