Michigan State Recruiting: Spartans make 3-star OG Blaine Scott’s top 5
Michigan State recruiting made the top five of three-star offensive guard Blaine Scott from Portsmouth, Ohio.
Offensive line depth is extremely important for collegiate football programs. Michigan State knows this all too well as it was thin up front in 2016. However, the Spartans will be looking to add a big piece to its 2018 class in three-star guard Blaine Scott from Portsmouth, Ohio.

On Monday afternoon, the three-star offensive guard released his top five schools. The Spartans will be looking to add some offensive line depth in the 2018 class.
Michigan State is one of two Big Ten teams to make the list — the other being Rutgers. However, Duke might be considered the favorite to land him. He also had two SEC programs — Ole Miss and Arkansas — in the final five. He will be committing on May 5.
While the Spartans may have some ground to make up, it may also be too late. The Blue Devils are the favorite and he has no more visits planned. He did just take a trip to Arkansas, however, which could make the Razorbacks, and former Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema, a dark-horse.
Scott stands 6-foot-4 and weighs about 310 pounds. He is big enough to play tackle, but could excel at the guard spot. He’s ranked the No. 334 overall prospect and 17th-best guard in the 2018 class, according to the 247Sports‘ composite.
