Michigan State recruiting is looking to land four-star point guard Blake Harris, but what are the Spartans’ chances?

Tom Izzo has some major decisions to make regarding the finish to his 2017 Michigan State recruiting class. In fact, he has a couple of open scholarships for some sort of combination of four remaining recruiting targets, including Blake Harris.

The four-star point guard from Chapel Hill, N.C., is originally from Wisconsin and grew up watching the Spartans. He is rumored to be favoring Michigan State, but Missouri, N.C. State, Rutgers and Connecticut round out his top five.

Should you believe everything the 247Sports‘ Crystal Ball tells you? Probably not. Although it looked like Miles Bridges may have been doing a little recruiting of his own, the Spartans may not have Harris too high on their board if Mark Smith commits.

Sure, Smith would likely play more of a wing position for the Spartans, but Izzo would rather save a scholarship for a guy like Brandon McCoy to close out the 2017 class.

Would the Spartans take a commitment from Harris during his official visit on April 13-14? It’s possible, but that all depends on what happens with Bridges and Smith. If Bridges goes, but Smith commits, Izzo would jump at the chance to land Harris. However, if Bridges stays and Smith commits, Harris’ spot may be gone.

The interest is definitely there and Izzo may be in good shape with Harris, but unless Bridges makes an announcement soon or Smith doesn’t commit, he may have to look elsewhere to play college ball.
