Michigan State recruiting is getting a big visit from four-star 2018 offensive tackle Ryan Hayes on Monday.

The 2018 Michigan State recruiting class is just starting to piece together, but the Spartans are in desperate need for some offensive line talent. After missing out on John Dirksen over the weekend, landing four-star tackle Ryan Hayes from Traverse City becomes all the more important.

Fortunately, Hayes is on campus for an unofficial visit on Monday. However, he’s being courted by both Notre Dame and Michigan and it seems like Jim Harbaugh has pulled off more of his recruiting magic as the Wolverines have surged to the forefront.

A few weeks ago, it seemed like a two-team race between Michigan State and Notre Dame, but now that Michigan has inserted itself, it’ll be that much tougher to land him. He’s a ‘Plan A’ guy for the Spartans, though, and Mark Dantonio will need to go all in.

Hayes is a rare talent. The 6-foot-7, 255-pound offensive tackle is more athletic than just your normal lineman. In fact, he plays a little tight end at the high school level and he could transition to that at the collegiate level. Moreover, he could be swayed by the opportunity to pick his position at the next level.
