We got a chance to pick the brain of ‘Canes Warning’ site expert Alan Rubenstein to talk Miami versus Michigan State basketball.

March Madness is finally here and Michigan State basketball fans hope it lasts more than one day. The Miami Hurricanes present a tough matchup for the Spartans, but Michigan State has faced similar teams this season.

We got a chance to catch up with fellow site expert of the Miami Hurricanes’ blog, Alan Rubenstein, to speak about the matchup between Michigan State and Miami on Friday night. It’s always nice to hear about the game from an opponent’s standpoint.

Q: What worries you most about Michigan State?

A: Miles Bridges.

Q: What do you think is Miami’s biggest strength(s)?

A: Defense and rebounding.

Q: In terms of the way the regular season went, do you believe Miami exceeded or fell short of expectations?

A: Miami was picked for ninth in the ACC and thats where they finished. They struggled early in the conference with a 2-4 record and lost three of their last four, but had some big wins that included UNC, Duke and at Virginia.

Q: If you were to pick, who is one player who the Spartans should keep an eye on?

A: Bruce Brown. The stats don’t bear out, but he’s their most talented player. He went for 30 and 25 in the wins over UNC and Duke, plus scored 21 in the loss to UNC in ACC Tournament.

Q: Prediction for the game?

A: Should be a close game that comes down to rebounding and turnovers.
