Michigan State recruiting is gearing up for an important official visit from three-star shooting guard Greg Elliott.

All the attention around East Lansing is turned toward the NCAA Tournament, but Michigan State recruiting never sleeps. In fact, the Spartans were paid an unofficial visit just a couple of days ago by three-star shooting guard Greg Elliott from Detroit and he is planning another trip soon.

According to Elliott’s page on 247Sportshe will be taking his official visit to Michigan State on March 31. While it’s possible, although not likely, that the Spartan basketball team will still be playing two weekends from now, it’s still a good time to get Elliott on campus for the spring football game.

Elliott is one of three priorities left in the 2017 class for Tom Izzo and Co., joining Brian Bowen and Brandon McCoy. There’s a possibility that the Spartans may end the 2017 class with just one of those three, but adding the trio would obviously be ideal.

The three-star shooting guard is severely underrated and his name has been on the rise in the recruiting ranks. Marquette is also making a strong push for him, but Izzo wants him in the class because he can be an explosive wing for the Spartans.

Michigan State’s 2017 class currently has two commits in four-star big man Xavier Tillman and five-star forward Jaren Jackson Jr. Elliott is ranked the No. 299 player in the country and 61st shooting guard, according to 247Sports. Could he commit during his visit?
