Miami head coach Jim Larranaga says his Hurricanes will advance to play Kansas in the round of 32.

Tom Izzo has done a heck of a job with the 2016-17 Michigan State basketball team. While he’s a perfectionist and wants more out of Miles Bridges and Nick Ward, he’s still happy that his team made the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed.

When the matchup was announced between No. 9 Michigan State and No. 8 Miami on the CBS Selection Show, analyst Seth Davis said the Spartans would likely face Kansas in the second round. Hurricanes head coach Jim Larranaga was not happy with that comment.

According to Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, Larranaga was disgruntled about Davis’ comment and rose up to address the crowd at a commercial break:

"During the commercial break, UM coach Jim Larranaga rose from his seat in front of the big-screen TV, turned and addressed the crowd.“I guess he’s never seen us play,” Larranaga said, to loud applause. He drew more cheers when said he hoped watch party attendees would either join them in Tulsa or cheer loudly at home — “so it’ll be us vs. Kansas in the second round.”"

Bulletin board material? Absolutely. While Larranaga was using Davis’ words about Michigan State advancing to the round of 32, he inadvertently let some words slip in front of reporters.
