Michigan State Recruiting: 3-star CB Christian Jackson commits
It didn’t take long for Michigan State recruiting to make up for the Joseph Scates de-commitment with a pledge from three-star cornerback Christian Jackson.
Less than 24 hours after receiving a de-commitment from four-star receiver Joseph Scates, Michigan State recruiting got a pledge from three-star cornerback Christian Jackson.

The underrated cornerback from Marietta, Ga., becomes the Spartans’ fourth commitment (fifth if you count Scates) in the 2018 class and he fills a major positional need. Michigan State offered him back on Feb. 8 and he visited this past weekend which was enough to sway him to commit. He was being courted by other major programs as well.
Jackson is light on his feet and can make a change of direction on a dime. He’s quick, isn’t afraid to hit and can break on the ball better than most kids at his level. He’s not the highest rated prospect on the Spartans’ board, but he was receiving interest from other major college programs for a reason.
What also stands out with Jackson is the fact that he has solid size for the cornerback position. He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs about 185 pounds which is more than ideal for the position at the collegiate level.

Michigan, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia had all offered Jackson, among others, and he’s ranked the No. 790 recruit in the class as well as the 75th-best cornerback, according to the 247Sports composite. I’d expect those numbers to improve.
