Michigan State basketball suffered a major blow on Saturday afternoon when senior guard Eron Harris went down with a scary injury.

Eron Harris went up for a layup and missed, coming down awkwardly on his leg and the scream that followed was chilling. At first, it seemed like the Michigan State basketball star cramped up, but after watching the replay, it was clear it was a serious injury.

Purdue was extending its lead as the score was 63-44 and the game was all but over, but the leg injury really put a damper on the Spartans’ hopes for a potential comeback. While Harris wasn’t playing well, you could tell the injury affected the team as everyone rallied around him and Miles Bridges even had tears in his eyes.

Watch the play which led to Harris being led out in a stretcher below.

It’s been a tough season for the senior guard who transferred over from West Virginia two years ago, but this is the icing on the cake to a disappointing final campaign. You know he wanted to be that leader which the team needed, but we will see if the Spartans can rally in his absence.

There’s no official word about how long he could be out, but Michigan State’s official Twitter page stated that it’s a knee injury.

Thoughts go out to Harris and the team as they look to replace him. That is likely a career-ending injury.
